Scholarships in India
Over the last 10 years, there has been a surge in scholarships and fellowships offered by Government of India and each State Government to students from 1st Std to Ph.D and also pursue higher studies in foreign universities.
The scholarship schemes especially for the weaker, backward and downtrodden sections of the society have not only encourged students to pursue their education but also reduced burden on poor and needy parents.
ONLINE Scholarship SystemSince 2012, almost all Government Scholarships have gone ONLINE. Right from the Application form to the mode of delivery of scholarship, the entire process is ONLINE. Here are some of the observations CIGMA Foundation has had after working in this field for over 8 years and processing 3,00,000 plus scholarship applications.
Advantages :
1. Students can directly enter their details without making any TYPO mistakes.
2. Students get the advantage of filling the form at their convenience.
3. Students can track their application using the unique ID assigned to them.
4. Students get an acknowlegement from the Software after filling the form
Challenges :
1. Students are unable to fill the form due to issues in software and internet many times.
2. Students make mistakes in filling the form as certain fields donot carry clear description.
3. Students make calls to HELPLINE Nos. for help but unfortunately have to wait for long hours or they just cannot speak to them due to heavy volume of calls.
4. Students take more than expected time to fill the form becauase of heavy internet traffice. This results in frustration and eventully student gives up on applying for Scholarship.

In view of all facts presented above and the recent developments by the new Central Government policy to bring all scholarships under one roof, CIGMA Foundations has designed eSCHOLAR 2015 - a One Stop solution for Government Scholarships

To help and guide students, schools and colleges by creating processes that simplify and facilitate in applying for Government Scholarship Schemes.

Set up atleast 10 eSCHOLAR CENTREs in Karnataka and other States which will help, guide and assist atleast 10,000 students to apply for Scholarships
eSCHOLAR 2015 - Benefits
- eSCHOLAR CENTRE will have OFFINE Forms for all the ONLINE Schemes, this captures all required data, formats required to be scanned and uploaded. Saves a lot of time.
- eSCHOLAR CENTRE will offer solutions for multiple schemes in one Place. If a family has 3 children studying in 3std, 10std and 1st year B.Com, the eSCHOLAR CENTRE will guide and help the parent apply for all the 3 Children who come under 3 different scholarhips.
- eSCHOLAR CENTRE will have well experienced and trained staff who will assist the students and parents to apply as per the guidelines .
- eSCHOLAR CENTRE will have High End Computers, Scanners & High Speed Internet to do ONLINE Filling of Forms in the fastest possible Time
- eSCHOLARS CENTRE will charge Nominal Fee for each Service and will always be a Not-for Profit and Not for Loss Project.

- Pre Matric Scholarship 2015-16Offered by : GOI, Ministry of Minority Affairs & GOK, Directorate of Minorities
Who can apply ? Students studying Class 1 to 10
Eligibility : Minority Community - Muslim, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis & Jains
Amount of Scholarship : Class 1 to 5 : Rs.1000/- ; Class 6 - 10 : Rs.5,000/- - Post Matric Scholarship 2015-16 (Minority)
Offered by : GOI, Ministry of Minority Affairs & GOK, Directorate of Minorities
Who can apply ? Students studying in PUC, ITI, Diploma, Paramedical, Degree, PG Courses
Eligibility : Minority Community - Muslim, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis & Jains
Amount of Scholarship : Rs.6000/- to Rs.13,000/- depending on the course - Post Matric Scholarship 2015-16 (SC/ST)
Offered by : GOK, Department of Social Welfare
Who can apply ? Students studying in PUC, ITI, Diploma, Paramedical, Degree, PG Courses
Eligibility : Schedule Caste (SC) & Schedule Tribe (ST) Community
Amount of Scholarship : Information not available. - Merit-cum-Means Scholarship 2015-16
Offered by : GOI, Ministry of Minority Affairs & GOK, Directorate of MinoritiesWho can apply ? Students studying in Engineering, Medical, Nursing, Law, Veterinary, Agriculture, MBA, MCA, etc..
Eligibility : Minority Community - Muslim, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis & Jains
Amount of Scholarship : Rs.25000/- to Rs.30,000/-. Students of Selected National Institutes get upto Rs.5 Lakhs !! - Moulana Azad Scholarship 2015-16

PARTNERS for eSCHOLAR 2015
CIGMA Foundation is looking for Partner NGOs across Karnataka and other States to start eSCHOLAR 2015 CENTRES in villages, towns and cities.
Terms and Conditions
- NGO must have a good track record of working in the field of education and must be registered organization - Trust or Society.
- NGO must have its own office or hire a place and have the following facilities - Atleast 2 computers, 2 scanners and High Speed Internet.
- The location for the eSCHOLAR 2015 CENTRE must be spacious enough to accomodate atleast 10 people at one time.
- NGO must have or hire Data Entry Operators ( Full Time ) who have good English Typing Speed.
- NGO must be ready to work 24/7 during the last days of the Scholarhsip Schemes since heavy load is expected on the websites and it may required data entry of forms between 9pm and 6am.
- NGO must bear all expenses of the eSCHOLAR CENTRE - Rent, Electricity, Stationary, Salaries, Computer Maintenance, etc.. by revenue generate from Nominal fee charged to the student.
- NGO will collect the nominal fee and utilize the revenue to run the eSCHOLAR CENTRE smoothly. The nominal fee will be set by CIGMA Foundation.
- NGO must not PROMISE or COMMIT any student that they will in their capacity make sure the student will get scholarship.
Role of CIGMA Foundation in eSCHOLAR 2015
- eSCHOLAR 2015 will be an initiative by CIGMA Foundation across India in association with NGOs across India who will be referred as PARTNER NGOs.
- CIGMA Foundation will select the scholarship schemes and create the necessary system, process and methods to make it easy for students.
- CIGMA Foundation will update all information on its website www.cigmafoundation.org and also list the eSCHOLAR CENTREs in the website.
- CIGMA Foundation will SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE and offer TRAINING TO STAFF / OPERATORS of the partner NGO.
- CIGMA Foundation will offer TECHNICAL SUPPORT to the NGO in the entire process.
- CIGMA Foundation will liason with respective Government Departments to be updated with the processes and ensure that in turn the PARTNER NGO is updated with all the facts.
- CIGMA Foundation will charge a nominal fee from NGOs to be the overhead costs and ensure smooth support.
- CIGMA Foundation will give maximum publicity about each eSCHOLAR CENTRE in respective districts.

- Inspite of all the correct and best efforts if any student does not receive scholarship, its purely because of rejection by the concernmed Government Department.
- Hence CIGMA FOUNDATION or any of its Partner NGOs who set up the eSCHOLAR 2015 CENTRE is NOT RESPONSIBLE for any rejection of scholarship or not receiving the scholarship.
